Candy Crush

Sweet, Delicious, Divine, Tasty!

I’ve been playing Candy Crush for about almost a week now and as I mentioned in the first post I wrote titled Candy Crush Saga I got irritated with having to wait over an hour to regain back the five lives in which it takes to resume the game.

The instance is annoying especially when I have a good game going and want to keep moving on.

Already in such a short time that I have engaged I’ve found a way to play continuously over and over again as long as I want and until I get tired without having to upgrade or purchase any extra lives thanks to a tip I read about and that really works!

Like I said before within the last post, Candy Crush is a very cute and delightful game though I’d never unnecessarily spend or waste any money just to gain more trivial entertainment.

I just use the tip I came across to obtain more lives and not to skip any of the levels because I like and enjoy the challenge of conquering the sometimes difficult points on my own no matter how many times I have to do over until I reach to the next higher stage.

I’ve reached to level 71 so far within these few days and the game cracks me up inside with the flavorful vocal and animated gestures. It’s a great way to kill some time and enhance my strategy at fun with Candy Crush.

Dr. Stephanie V Blank, MD

Dr. Stephanie Blank, MD

My mother beat ovarian cancer years ago when I was three years old. She was carrying a malignant growth on one of her ovaries while she was pregnant with me. She had the mass that was the size of an orange successfully removed without any complications.

The doctors found a growth on one of my ovaries when I was sixteen it had been developing since I was twelve. I underwent plenty of tests, referrals, and so on.

When I turned twenty-three I was introduced to Dr. Stephanie Blank who performed an exploratory laparoscopy on me to locate the mass they’d found on ultrasounds, MRI’s, and CT scans. She told me if they went in and found the growth she’d give me a bikini cut because I was young and she wanted the procedure to be done correctly and thoroughly so I wouldn’t have to undergo anymore possible surgery within the future or be butchered up.

She was very caring, considerate, and thoughtful toward me and my situation. I was strong within myself, confident within her ability, and not at all afraid to have my operation.

I was surrounded by a team of professional women and a camera and big television screen all there and ready to aide Dr. Blank in the preparation and process and I thought to myself how lucky I was to be in such good hands. I could feel the essence.

When I awoke in the recovery room first thing I did was vomit up food from the day before even though I hadn’t ate over the time I was instructed not to prior. I had an intravenous tube still in my arm. I found out that Dr. Blank wasn’t able to find the mass so I didn’t have to be cut on after all just the small unnoticeable incision made by the exploratory laparoscopy right near my belly button.

I was absolutely left without any scars and I was given a prescription for antibiotics and Tylenol with codeine upon release from the hospital.

I had one more doctor visit with Stephanie Blank following up on the minor surgical procedure and afterwards a telephone conversation where she acknowledged to me that she had given birth to a “beautiful baby boy” as she had put it and that she was going into her own medical practice.

All of the best doctors end up leaving and going into their own and I was proud of her as she was an inspiration.

This happened back in June of 1997 at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell in Manhattan. Stephanie Blank’s specialty is gynecologic oncology.

Wild Life Walking The Street

I’ve come across quite a few raccoons who run and walk freely around the streets of New York from time to time. This had been going on for years, ever since the nineties I remember seeing them.

In fact, they’ve recently been spotted on rooftops and on fire escapes and these creatures in particular were big in size and every time one is near within my presence outdoors, I keep my distance.

When I worked in Rockland County, New York a few years ago at a assisted living facility there would be a family of deer who frequented the outside premises and they wouldn’t bother anyone. One of the deers was cautious and waited for me to pass by before crossing a pathway to continue on in travel with the other flock. I had filmed the scene with my smartphone back then and showed it to my mother when I arrived back home to queens.

I always considered deers to be one of the most beautiful creatures on the planet.

Candy Crush Saga Indeed

Of course, I had heard of the game Candy Crush Saga, however, I had never played it and wasn’t at all interested in playing the game.

It wasn’t until recently this past week that I first tried it out.

In my youth, it was the arcade and atari video games Miss Pac Man which held my attention, along with centipede, and other fun shit. Years ago, it was Diner Dash. I had played once in a while on my computer as it was so cute and a entertaining way to occupy some time, and then Diner Dash 2 came out.

I even re-lived playing Miss Pac Man on my computer back then.

Now, I did actually find Candy Crush delightful yet I have to agree with senator Josh Hawley in an article I read about the tech industry luring children to snare money by having them pay for continued plays and upgrades.

I have to admit as an adult I was getting pretty pissed off when I lost my lives a few times and had to wait over twenty minutes “each” to gain each of my five lives back in order to play again which took over an hour. If I wanted to get past that, of course, I’d have to pay for several unlimited hours of playtime, and I refused to spend money only to unnecessarily add up for such a trivial purpose.

Candy Crush Saga is very cute and fun to play and it’s a challenging rush climbing up to the higher levels with more speed, but it ain’t cute and fun enough to make me want to shell out my sweet dough and let it all go to waste. No thank you!

It could actually lead to addictive behavior and gambling in some children as they’d be anxious and impatient to play Candy Crush and other so called free games then wiping out their parents pockets without first getting their permission.

Juicy Fruit

The weather has finally begun to mimic summer temperatures lately here in Queens, New York and usually when it gets hot and humid I like to eat light.

The fruit I had bought came in handy during the weeks. I picked up these big and beautiful bag of oranges from my local Stop And Shop they were worth the $7.99 that I paid as they were flawless, sweet, and juicy. I ate the oranges ice cold. I left them in the refrigerator a few days before I began to consume them.

Along with them I had purchased some Granny Smith green apples which I also let get ice cold before eating.

Everything taste so good cold especially in the heat of the environment. When I was thirsting for something other than water I drank ice cold apple juice. All soothing and healthy to the body.

Popcorn Galore!

I just got finished popping kernels in olive oil. I love popcorn and whenever I get the taste for some I prepare it myself instead of purchasing pre-packaged.

Popcorn is a healthy snack.

I’d usually buy Bob’s Red Mill white or yellow kernels. Before that I had tried Arrowhead Mills brand.

Right now, I have in my home Jolly Time white kernels.

All of them are non gmo, vegan, or organic and the products are of excellent or outstanding quality. The popcorn smells and comes out so fresh tasting and delicious to the point where I have to pop out a couple of batches just to satisfy my appetite.

I highly recommend these three kernel snack brands as they are far better than any store bought and movie theater pre-popped popcorn.

Singer Prince And Society’s Veneration

The radio station is still continuing to celebrate The Purple Man’s life throughout the weekend since his birthday was yesterday.

People keep reminding the public that Prince didn’t celebrate his birthday because he was a Jehovah’s Witness. One female dee jay even praised Prince for having had to receive a sort of enlightenment from “above” for the instance.

I was twelve years old when I stopped celebrating my birthday and I was born with a Caul/Veil. I became a vegetarian at that age also, and I knew what life was all about back then as I avoided partaking in the so called “worldly things” of society as I had no desire to, and I’m forty-four now and have so much peace.

Many of us have already experienced revelations, have known things, and have lived accordingly to our spiritual alignments far before mainstream society became aware or fully aware of particular things, before the media reported findings or developments of certain things, and before many famous people came to know and incorporate circumstances into their own lives, yet because these people are in the limelight they receive special credit when all along there were people like us at earlier stages within our lives who were the ones to make the same discoveries.

I am not at all knocking Prince, nevertheless, I also have to mention that if Prince was a woman he would not be receiving all of this favorable attention and celebration as he had once lived a scandalous lifestyle. As sexually promiscuous and provocative as Prince was during his early days on up to the point where it eventually haunted him he would never have gotten so far with approval.

Of course, he had haters and those who weren’t fans of his just like others because everyone has their own preferences and taste, however, if Prince was female he would have been called every derogatory name in the book, and considered unacceptable to be revered in such a positive way for his talents and achievements.

If a woman behaved in the manner in which Prince did the instance would not have literally taken anything from her. She’d still have all of her faculties whether mental or physical but with the ridiculous double standard all her value would have just been focused on how many times she used her vagina and with how many different men.

To me, there is no difference because I am realistic. It is not always what someone does it is why they do what they do that justifies or excuses the situation.

I don’t care what anyone does with their body as it is of no concern to me, though, a man, in my opinion, who has many sexual escapades and encounters is not someone that is projected as maintaining his worth in comparison to a woman who is suppose to lose her’s within my eyes.

I am one who never went along with society’s bullshit and what is deemed as acceptable or appropriate.

This society is in no position and does not have the knowledge or authority to define what it is to be a woman and what contributes to her value and worth as only an individual within her own is able to define her own true identity.– miss latoya

The Purple Man

I am not at all the starstruck type, never was, and I never will be. To me individuals who are famous are just that-well known people-who are just mere human beings with popular notoriety.

The Doves are not crying as they reign in peace-miss latoya

Fame doesn’t mean greatness as there are many with talent, character, and ability, who have never been widely recognized. There are those who get too much unnecessary media attention and I don’t really understand what they’re famous for.

However, it is a dinner tempted in individuals nurtured by the hungers distributed within the “belly of the beast”.

Many get famous not by worth or accomplishment but by deed or advantage.

Some who are blessed don’t even want the fame just the fulfillment and fortune within their own natural passion and drive through answering the callings urged from the bestowals within their everyday lives.

Today is singer Prince’s birthday and as he is deceased his life is again being celebrated as a tribute to him by many.

The radio is sharing memories of him and playing many of his hits. One of my favorite songs of Prince is “Raspberry Beret”.

In my opinion, Prince had a very unique style, was very talented, and made a lot of great music.

Incident At A Rite Aid

Two weeks ago on a Sunday morning I went into a neighborhood Rite Aid. I don’t shop there frequently but from time to time usually to purchase a particular item on sale or to get something close by for my convenience.

I’ve also been a member of their shopping rewards program for years just as with a few other stores that offer card value savings.

So after I entered into the store I headed straight toward the vitamin aisle as I had just came from my local Vitamin Shoppe already with a bag full of supplements. Rite Aid carries Nature’s Truth supplements where you can always buy one and get another supplement item of the same brand for free.

While I stood in the aisle there was an older lady who had gotten there before me and had been taking her time scoping out what she wanted to buy and I could tell she’d been there a while before I myself had arrived. I usually do the same upon deciding what I’m going to purchase and I often take my time as I may come across additional items that will catch my eye for consideration.

In the process of the lady and I continuing to deliberate on the things that we were possibly going to buy I observed a store employee walk by the area twice and my guard went up as his behavior served to me as an alert to something “fishy” going on with him.

Shortly after, the instance escaped my mind, as not too long following I entered a few other aisles in search for more possible products to purchase. It wasn’t until I hit the shampoo aisle that this same lurking employee made a direct approach toward me.

“I need to check your bag”, he said to me.

“This idiot”, I immediately thought to myself as I instantly knew what he was implying.

“Why?” I said in response, Do you think I stole something?”

“No”, he said, as he was lying, of course.

“So why do you want to check my bag?” I asked him again. “You are suspicious of me”.

Still, this employee continued to deny my address that I was being accused by his assumption that I had been stealing, and kept suggesting that I let him check my bag.

Finally, I relented, while addressing, “Okay, but you’re not going to find anything”. And when I let this employee snoop into my bag full of vitamins he didn’t find one single item located from that Rite Aid store and I had a receipt to prove it if needed be!

Afterwards, he left me alone, however, I picked up a shampoo that was on sale and took it to the counter along with two other items that I had in my hand to buy.

I questioned the clerk asking her “Do you all in here randomly check customer’s bags and are customer’s allowed to bring purchases from other stores into this store?” I certainly already knew the answer to my question I just wanted to hear it from the cashier’s mouth herself.

Once she told me “no” to the first question and “yes” to the second one I told her to get me a manager. I had a strong feeling the asshole who hounded me was the manager and I was correct.

When he brought himself over to the counter I told him that I was reporting him to the district manager or someone higher up.

I questioned him in front of other customer’s as to why he asked to check my bag demanding that he just come out and be honest about it. I told him it was because of the color of my skin, my brown skin, and nothing else. I had been coming into that Rite Aid longer than he’d been working there as I had never seen him there before. I didn’t look or appear like a bum, I worked every day, and don’t have to steal anything.

The manager claimed he was suspicious because I stayed in the aisle too long which was bullshit because other people who were of a lighter complexion and different race were there inside the aisles longer than I was. He couldn’t come up with anything substantial and he was stupid because there were cameras everywhere.

This man was of Hispanic descent and he had the nerve to be leery of me as many of his ethnicity do actually believe that they are better than most blacks and will judge one on the spot whether they’re within the appearance of classy or not.

Well, he messed around with the wrong non stereotypical, proper speaking, intelligent, and dignified black female, and sure enough, without wasting any time, I went home and reported him. I had his name, the store location number, the time of the incident so they could roll back the cameras, and all.

Someone higher up got back to me the next day from Rite Aid customer service and thanked me for reporting the situation. They imparted if the manager did what he did to me on account of my race or color of my skin that he would do it again to someone else and assured me he would be reprimanded.

Obese Children

I come from a very large family and in the summer of 1983 some relatives from down in my grandmother’s (my mother’s mother) hometown state of Virginia came up to New York to visit us for a week.

It was one of my grandmother’s sisters, her niece, her niece’s husband, and their two sons.

The youngest son was three years of age and looked to be about one hundred pounds. The little boy was so heavy that he had to crawl backwards just to make it down from the staircase.

His mother had brought along for their vacation his packed items of unhealthy snacks which were four cans of corn chips, cheese balls, and some other junk food.

What happened to the old hearty home cooked nourishing meals the family use to constantly prepare, serve, and feed off to the rest of the family?

I guess my grandmother’s niece hadn’t picked up on the tradition of her own mother’s household from years back.

Nevertheless, why let your kid get fat off of a bunch of unhealthy junk food? Shouldn’t she have been feeding him meat and vegetables and feeding him junk snacks sparingly if it was necessary at all for his young age?

I was about eight years old at the time and the three year old boy who was my second cousin cried at the time because I had eaten some dinner that was made for everyone. The child was so spoiled from constantly being fed all kinds of shit by his mother that he wanted to eat up everything there in sight.

My mother nicknamed him butterball.

It wasn’t until I got older and was strolling through the aisle in the supermarket that I realized she was referring him to the likes of a Butterball Turkey.

The mother of this young child was one of my mother’s first cousins, and to me, this kind of behavior was a form of child neglect and abuse. This kid who actually appeared to be one hundred pounds had no business getting to be that size for three years of age.

He was too big and had gained too much weight from eating too much of the wrong things.

My mother had to send her relatives home sooner than the week that was planned for them to stay at our home. The boy was causing too many problems as he whined from walking down the street.

His weight made him tired, sore, and lazy just from keeping mildly active. When he couldn’t get out of the car that his parents drove his mother asked my mother to pick him up and bring him out of the vehicle.

His mother was also on the heavy side and was a bit too lazy herself to go and lift up her son.

We all had took an outing on the circle liner boat ride in Manhattan and he had a fit about getting his way, and so on.

So my mother sent them all on home packing early one 4am morning.

A Japanese man has died on a flight from Mexico City after ingesting 246 bags of cocaine.

The flight, bound for Japan’s Narita International Airport, had to make an emergency landing in Mexico’s Sonora state after he began to have seizures.

Authorities said the man, identified as Udo N, died of a cerebral oedema caused by a drug overdose.

The passenger transferred to the flight after starting his journey in the Colombian capital Bogotá.

According to a statement by Sonora’s attorney general, the bags – measuring 2.5cm long and 1cm wide – were found in his stomach and intestines during the autopsy.

The remaining 198 passengers aboard were able to continue their journey after the emergency landing in the city of Hermosillo.

Mexico’s federal authorities will take over the investigation.

Full Figured Women

I come from a family of women that are within all sizes. Some are petite, some are average, and some are heavy.

My relatives are native southerners rooted in Meadville Virginia (Halifax County) and they weren’t ashamed of anything. The women were strong and independent and very hard and good workers. They didn’t get vexed by nonsense and persevered through grave times.

Weight had never been an issue with the women on my mother’s side of the family they weren’t self conscious about anything concerning their bodies. And I relate to them so well within mindset.

Often in general, there is talk among and about many women as well as men who are overweight, plump, or even considered too skinny. I never understood the degree in which some individuals place themselves in as well as others.

I and the particular members of my family would neither desire nor attempt to meet anyone’s criteria of what their appearance should resemble. Approval depends on no one but us and within our own selves and to our own liking. We weren’t the type to seek out acceptance from anyone including the world around us.

I can see if ones weight is a problem due to health matters and ease of comfort and the such but for mere public opinion I don’t see it. If one is happy with oneself that is pounds enough to carry around proudly.

The heavy women in my family were literally beautiful. They kept themselves neat and clean with stern and pleasant attitudes and confidently wore their weight well.

For The Love Of Books

With all of the technology out there I’m someone who still appreciates the pleasure of holding a book in my hand.

As an avid reader of all sorts when it comes to my favorite interests in novels I prefer admiring the jacket of a paperback illustration, taking my time out to search through the aisles of a book store to read the back covers, and skim over the pages upon deciding the perfect choice of my particular selections.

Online reading is a great and convenient option and resource for all, however, I love the old fashion way too and hope hand-held books are here to stay during this vast computer age.

I’m not into ebook reading when it comes to novels. I like to lay comfortably in bed turning the pages of a book that will keep me up all night and with anticipation or one that I just can’t put down for long. I just love that shit!

I remember B. Dalton bookstore and Borders Books and how they’re nolonger in business to shop at though we still have a Barnes And Noble to walk into.

One For The Road

I’m a constant shopper I always have bags especially ones full of groceries. I use public transportation when I travel and often depend on the bus to get me to where I’m going.

When some bus drivers see me standing at the bust stop with my load of packages they act like they don’t want to stop to pick me up and one or two transit drivers had indeed kept on going and intentionally passed me by and their buses weren’t anywhere near crowded within the past yet some will let on those passengers who lug and tote full size shopping carts inconveniently blocking the walkway.

When I get too overloaded with groceries and unable to make it home by bus I may call a taxi and some of them require significant chunks of an arm and a leg.

So many people want someone else’s money and they are ready, willing, and able to help themselves to other peoples cash as if they have entitlement. I was never the type to give away money and I don’t work everyday to support those who are eager to be handed down my hard earned cash on account of their greed or covetousness.

A lot of cabdrivers are out of control these days preferring larger sums and amounts while also expecting to be paid tips going as far as to set their own amusing rates for a trip wherein short distance and location. I understand the drivers have to make a living, however, it won’t be at the expense of ripping me off if their line of work is too insufficient they should get a second job or look into another field of work.

All taxi drivers and companies are not this way I have rode with a few very reputable cab services who were dependable at arrival and reasonable within price and deserved the occasional tip for good business if necessary.

Lately, to reach one of my places of employment I am in need of a taxi to get me the rest of the way for the days that I’m scheduled for work. At first things seemed to go well until this one cab service began to inform to me as to what became the same explanation on a daily basis of none of his taxis being available within my area to get me to my job. I knew the dispatcher was lying I even witnessed one of his cabbies pulling off from a regular nearby location where I was at once. This is just someone who was tired of me calling everyday for a six dollar ride whereas he wanted his drivers traveling to farther locations to get compensated a higher profit.

There is a cab company within my own neighborhood that I’ve been frequently using for years now, though, and they’ve never let me down whenever I need them I wish they were able to drive me the short ride away from where the bus leaves me off at when I head to go to my job but it’s too far out of the area for them to come get me.

Snack Attack Tip

&Follow my blog with Bloglovin;

I love potato chips and cookies and cake once in a while yet I’ll only eat those within vegan and non gmo form.

The sweets have to be made on the healthy side and a homemade preparation is usually the best suitable route on desserts when it comes to optimal nutrition since one is inserting their own actual ingredients.

Nevertheless, everything within moderation and within personal tolerance is the way to go.

What I mostly enjoy snacking on above all else is fresh fruits, I love all kinds from green apples to grapes, watermelon, oranges, bananas, pineapples, honeydew melons and plenty more.

Fruit tastes delicious and is so good and beneficial to the body and I constantly incorporate these foods into my meal plan as well as a healthy snack tip to myself when I get hungry for a quick bite.

Dole

I loved Dole products, to me, they were one of the best brands out there on the market when it came to quality I had been buying their items for years.

I just bought a few containers of Dole Pina Colada juice drink the other day and I loved the taste of the beverage where there was actual strong real coconut flavor with no added sugar to the natural mix the fruits were a perfect blend.

I had tried a few other juice variety by Dole but this was my first time trying the Pina Colada. I haven’t drank Pina Colada in years as certain other brands tasted too watered down for me within the past.

Within additional categories of food I preferred to eat Dole bananas over any other type of brand, I also loved their raisins, fresh bags of salads and etc… I love their fresh pine apples that I use to buy constantly back in the early nineties.

Del Monte sold good fresh pineapples too.

I have purchased Dole and Del Monte products that were labeled Non GMO yet I have indeed read about how Dole and Del Monte were listed as one of the many companies that are geared toward anti GMO labeling and hiding GMO ingredients by intentionally misleading consumers with, of course, the “natural flavors” disguise .

In fact, companies that may surprise many of us are alleged to also be a part of the campaign in an effort not to lose money as a lot of us don’t really want any genetically modified foods within our diets.

It’s like we cannot trust nothing or too much of anything in what we eat from these companies these days even while they may falsely profess otherwise.

Hesitant it seems to just take a chance once in a while.

I’ll Pass On The Gas

I love granola bars yet it was hard for me to find ones acceptable to the ingredients that I’m finicky about eating and that was vegan.

Those in which I had come across within the past were either too sugary or not good enough within taste.

I use to love Nature’s Valley’s peanut butter, maple, and oat granola bars but they weren’t labeled as vegan even though the ingredients showed no visible indication that they weren’t, however, I wasn’t so sure about how the sugar was processed so I had stopped eating them.

Not to mention how some products are prepared with hidden content.

I not too long ago discovered a box of Kashi peanut butter vegan granola bars and was satisfied with the ingredient label.

I had read online reviews though about how nasty Kashi peanut butter granola bars had gotten upon the new recipe change and how people no longer desired the product.

I had never tasted the original recipe as I took notice of the product at a later time so I went further online to come up with what was first listed within the ingredients when the granola bars had first hit the market.

Once I found a listing of the old contents I was disappointed in the recipe and would not have chosen to buy Kashi as I didn’t prefer those other ingredients.

When I ate into the new and improved version of Kashi peanut butter granola bars I loved them!

I didn’t agree with the majority of online reviewers opinions of the now changed product.

I don’t know what they tasted like before but they weren’t hard in texture or nasty within flavor to me. They were soft and good, and delivered a satisfying peanut taste.

And I also like how they butchered the unnecessary non vegan contents that were in there prior.

I purchased and ate quite a few boxes of Kashi peanut butter granola until one day I passed a little gas after consumption and an odor shot out with the smell of a rotten hard-boiled egg.

The same thing happened with my favorite Late July brand multi-grain vegan tortilla chips. I use to eat a lot of them too until they also had me fart out a rotten egg smell.

I knew something was wrong after that and left both products alone because I don’t usually pass gas with a reek as such.

I haven’t let out a stench like that since then either.

Wow! For WowButter!

I recently wrote a post that mentioned wowbutter, a peanut butter substitute that is plant-based and how the product was good but a little runny within the consistency and that I wished the butter made from soy was thicker and stiffer.

Well I just purchased another jar of wowbutter yesterday and just opened it up today and noticed how thick and stiff the texture was and I was thrilled.

So either the product was improved or I just happened to buy a particularly oily batch last time around. It could have also been the temperature during shipping or within the supermarket that had made it runny and drippy.

Nevertheless, I spread the wowbutter on lightly toasted thin vegan slices of Dave’s Killer Organic multi-grain bread and enjoyed every bite.

I like the wowbutter better than peanut butter I love how it’s not sweet or sugary tasting. The product has its own unique similar taste, and like I said before, the soy within wowbutter has more protein than actual peanut butter making it an even healthier choice of preference.

What Is Asexual/Asexuality?

I am proud to be Asexual.

I was contacted by two online magazines a few years ago (about three years ago) as they considered my article regarding my asexuality as “powerful” and beneficial to other readers and I allowed one of them to use and publish my story. It was very nice to get that sort of recognition.

In a short summary:

As an asexual person myself I do not ,however, represent the attitudes that every or all asexuals have. I would never generalize anyone because we are all very different and have our own unique personalities, preferences, and views.

Nevertheless, us asexuals all do have a common trait. We lack a sexual interest and attraction to other people, regardless of what the sex is of the other person. Asexuality is not a form of lesbianism, homosexuality or bisexuality. Asexual means “without” sexuality.

Natural Pain And Discomfort Relief For Menstruation And Constipation

Taking a plant-derived turmeric capsule supplement is how I stopped my severe constipation years ago.

I tried Nature’s Way brand at first before using Solgars brand they both worked and were very good in aiding my bowel movement out unrestricted and with ease.

Those turmeric supplements would push me to poop just as if one would get pushed with the urgency to urinate and that had never happened to me before starting the turmeric capsules. So I knew that I was onto a correct natural method.

Aside from Turmeric helping to prevent me the burden of being constipated I had noticed the herb/spice prevented menstrual cramps and pains during my monthly period cycle.

I had already discovered MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) as a source of natural pain relief from the discomfort of menstruation but then I had Tumeric along with another prior discovery of pain relief from the probiotic strains of good bacteria within a supplement that I also took on occasions.

By taking all three for their own specific beneficial purposes within the body they each became helpful to me within other ways making them a valuable asset in my collection of vitamin selection.

I know that every individual is different and that what might work for one may not result in the same for another, however, I’ve never experienced any more of the bad period discomfort of the menstrual cramps and shooting and aching pains since taking MSM.

And it was good to know that I had natural alternative choices as back up just in case I was in need or ever ran out with the ever so wonderfully useful benefits of Turmeric, Probiotics, and MSM supplements.

The Abortion Pill

Just as with any type of medications there are the pros and cons and possible side effects.

I’ve never been pregnant but I’m pretty sure any woman who ever considered the thought of an abortion would prefer to have a safe and legal procedure that was both non drastic and the most convenient for them.

Abortion is a controversial issue among many people, nevertheless, a woman has the right to choose what is best for her and to decide over her own body.

Unlike the emergency contraception or morning after pill that can prevent a pregnancy before it starts or from within about five days of indulging in unprotected sexual activity the abortion pill is different.

The emergency contraception pills will not injure or bring to an end a pregnancy that is already in motion and some are available without a prescription.

The abortion pill will terminate an early pregnancy for up to thirteen weeks at the most as the medications could result an incomplete finish due to the maturation of an embryo after that specific time period.

These particular abortion pills legally available through health centers aren’t that medically advanced yet therefore any later stage of pregnancy would call for a surgical abortion.

It may be a disappointment and unfortunate circumstance for those at further terms of gestation to have such a limited option of convenient measure to bring a means to an end.

With all the progress that is being made within research and study there may very well be a suitable or proper solution in the very near future.

Peanut, Nut Allergy, And Vegan Protein

I love peanuts I just ate a bag last night the Hampton Farms roasted in the shell brand that I’ve been eating for years. They’re a vegan, gluten-free, and non gmo product.

I also love cashews, pecans, and walnuts but I know what it’s like to love food that you can’t eat because it could result in an allergic reaction. I had to limit my intake of walnuts due to the fact of eating too many gave me a terrible back pain and nausea. I had even vomited. That happened back when I was a teenager I haven’t eaten any walnuts since.

There are those whose allergic reaction to specific foods would result in much worse of a consequence sometimes even serious enough to cause death and they have to take extra special care in watching what they eat.

For those allergic to peanuts there is a substitute all natural Wow Butter spread made from plant based ingredients. I’ve actually tried the product myself which contains absolutely no hydrogenated oils. It even has more protein than peanut butter. The only thing is I wish the consistency was a little thicker and stiffer because when I packed the butter on my toast and bread it would drip over, it’s a little bit on the runny side which makes it a little messy if not careful otherwise it is a real neat product.

I’ve listed below a notice from the company website:

WOWBUTTER Ingredients are NON-GMO Verified (https://wowbutter.com/ingredients)

From our family to yours…we are proud to produce our WOWBUTTER using only ALL NATURAL ingredients that are all derived from Non-Genetically Modified plants.

Whole Toasted Soy: The soybeans used to produce the Toasted Soy in WOWBUTTER are from identity preserved NON-Genetically Modified soybeans grown exclusively in Canada and/or the United States and are planted, harvested, transported, stored, conditioned and packaged in such a manner so as to minimize the risk of contamination from other soybean varieties. Our soybean supplier is certified with Identity Preserved Recognition Plus HACCP that ensures identity and NON-Genetically Modified preservation. In addition, all raw soybeans are tested for the presence of Genetic Modification prior to unloading at our facility using the EnviroLogix™ QuickStix™ Kit for Roundup Ready® Bulk Soybeans, which has a sensitivity of 0.1%. Any soybeans that fail the Genetic Modification strip test are rejected.

Pressed Soy Oil: The oil used in WOWBUTTER is a fully refined naturally pressed soy oil derived from Soybeans that have NOT been Genetically Modified from USA origin. We retain documentation and confirmation from our oil supplier confirming that the soy oil we purchase is NOT Genetically Modified. The supplier is certified by The NON-GMO Project that ensures identity and NON-Genetically Modified preservation.

Cane Sugar: A little cane sugar is added to compliment the natural sugar already found in Soy. The cane sugar used is derived from raw sugar cane sources and suppliers that do not grow Genetically Modified varieties. Documentation from the supplier is kept on file to indicate the NON-Genetic Modification status of the sugar.

Palm Oil: A tiny amount of Palm Oil is added to WOWBUTTER to help prevent oil separation. The origin of the palm oil that is used comes from sources that have NOT been Genetically Modified. Documentation from the supplier is kept on file to indicate the NON-Genetic Modification status of the Palm Oil. Furthermore, the palm oil is sourced sustainably from a supplier that is part of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).

Sea Salt: A pinch of Sea Salt is added. There is no Genetic Modification done on sea salt.

In Summary: We are committed to ensuring that all ingredients used in the production of WOWBUTTER are derived from ingredients of NON-GMO origin and that they will continue maintain the NON-GMO status. We further verify the NON-GMO status with 3rd party testing completed every 3 months for GMO’s at an accredited lab. Test results are available on our website or upon request.

Mind, Body, And Spirit

Food (any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth).

Our mind and spirit also need to be fed just as well as our bodies.

Harmonic alignment within personal environment promotes physical comfort, mental stimulation, and a spiritual peace which creates balance.

It is not about what is so-called normal as much as it is about what is healthy when going about individual well-being and how a person obtains fulfillment.

If we don’t pick out and wear the correct fit within accordance to our own specific foot size in proportion to area to breathe we just make the walk unnecessarily hard to bear.

Milk And Cereal

I just got finished eating four cups of dairy- free Silk alternative vanilla yogurt a few hours ago earlier this morning after I got home.

The product is so delicious. The vanilla beans are visibly mixed in with a satisfying flavor that doesn’t get boring.

I love the consistency of the product such a perfect smooth thick texture when stirred.

I hadn’t  purchased any in a while had to pick some up today along with a container of Silk vanilla soy milk that I ran out of to go along with my creamy wheat Bob’s Red Mill Farina that I eat at any time of the day.

Sometimes I’ll mix it with a portion of the Bob’s Red Mill Oat Bran those two hot cereals taste good cooked together over the stove blended in with a little brown sugar and ginger.

Just One Of Those Things

For the most part, and in general, if one treats their body right their body will in return do unto them the same wonderful favor, and depending on how well, one may often receive the most optimal of health benefits.

In certain instances, however, there are those that heavily drink alcohol, heavily smoke, and don’t eat nutritionally that live on to have long fair (mediocre, okay, or so-so) lives without any serious health conditions. Whereas those who make a significant effort to take care of themselves sometimes fall short when it comes to major health problems and living great yet shorter lives.

For some, the circumstances are determined by genetics, environment, injury, health insurance, or fate-just a form of good or bad luck it seems when it comes to the unexplainable.

North Shore Animal League

For us canine lovers our pets health matters too.

Aside from other puppies that were given to me by family associates when I was a child  all together I had adopted three puppies from North Shore Animal League on three separate occasions.

I adopted a seven to eight week old puppy in the year of 1986 from North Shore Animal League.

It was one of the happiest days of my life. I was ten years old.

The shelter gave us free dog food, bowl, leash, coupons for more food, and future appointments to periodically get our pet her free shots.

It was totally free to adopt a cat or dog from North Shore Animal League back then.

There was no out-of-pocket cost for anything.

Seven to eight years later in 1994 my dog came down with a serious life threatening bacteria infection called Pyometra (a result from my dog not having been spayed a veterinarian had acknowledged to me and my family).

At the time we didn’t have the money that it cost to pay for our beloved pet’s operation.

As a last resort, we called up North Shore and explained our dire situation. They told us to bring in our dog’s adoption papers and that they would conduct her surgery for free, and indeed they did.

They said all that mattered was saving our dogs life.

All they asked for in return was if we could one day send them a donation to contribute to help out the other animals.

This was such a nice act of kindness and a blessing given unto us.

It’s a different day and age now but I still remember after all of these years how caring and helpful the staff members and volunteers of that time were at North Shore toward our beloved pet, and toward her total well-being.

If it weren’t for their shelter we would have lost her.

She lived a life of seventeen full years.

Lifestyle

People that observed me, especially many within my work environment, have stated to me and others that “I eat very healthy”.

Even those who hadn’t been around me very long would mention and make reference to how I take care of myself.

It’s just the way I’ve always been at one time in my youth I had the desire to become a dietitian. My mother had even purchased a professional medical book on the subject to get me more informed and prepared if that was the field I decided to actually go into.

During my teenage years when my mother purchased my first Hamilton Beach juicer, not too long after, she bought me a book on juicing that included tons of detail and facts about fruits, vegetables, vitamins and how they utilize and how our constitutions benefit from them, and more.

My mother was always supportive and encouraging toward whatever I wanted to do.

Well-being is what’s in and it is delightful to point that out.

When I go to Whole Foods down at 59th Columbus Circle in Manhattan, New York that place is constantly packed with people spending a small fortune on a host of befitting items. And I have been shopping at Whole Foods from time to time for years now.

Yesterday, I had a great tasting meal of white rice and beans with a savory sauce.

I like to put my own creative ideas together.

Later today, before I head to work, I’m going to prepare and fix myself a few plates of thin spaghetti noodles dressed in onion, garlic, oregano, rosemary, basil, a little pepper, and olive oil.

My Killer Muffins

Dave’s killer bread products are one of the healthiest on the market and the only primary bread that I purchase for myself.

There is also an interesting back story about how Dave’s Killer Bread developed.

The breads are organic, whole grain, vegan, and non gmo project verified.

I love the classic organic whole grain english muffins and organic whole grain plain bagels.

When I prepare my muffins I split them, sprinkle garlic, onion, oregano and rosemary on them, drip olive oil on them and toast them in the toaster oven!

American Flatbread Vegan Harvest Pizza

I travel frequently around New York through my occupation in the health care field.

When I worked In Manhasset, New York I’d stop off at a Whole Foods that was located in the area before going to my job or heading on home.

This particular market is a nice size but not large as the ones I’ve visited within other areas.

One day I stopped off, wheeled a cart through the aisles waiting for anything in particular to jump out and catch my eye, then I spotted the American Harvest Vegan Flatbread Pizza that I had read about online.

My local Stop and Shop carry’s the American Harvest Flatbread pizza just not the vegan kind so it had been hard for me to find.

I had been looking for a non dairy pizza for some time because most imitation cheese won’t cut it for me. I haven’t tried too many, however, the few I did sample wasn’t appealing at all.

The Field Roast creamy original vegan chao slices were the only brand to come close to the real thing with a suitable taste. To me, It was on the style of swiss cheese when it came to flavor. I only purchased that once upon a time, though.

The Daiya cheese slices were disgusting to me that is why I was so surprised when I bit into the vegan harvest pizza (as I read on a later produced box daiya was mentioned as the source of alternative cheese texture).

I must have had a different version of the daiya, maybe the mozzarella shreds are better or more tolerable than the cheddar slices.

Anyhow, I brought home four boxes of the pizza. It tasted like a delicious appetizer. The regular price is usually around $7 a box in the frozen food aisle.

I’ve caught it on sale a couple of times and stocked up on them. I can eat the whole cute pie all by myself!

American Flatbread Vegan Harvest pizza is preservative free and GMO free! Here is a list of the ingredients:

Ingredients: crust: 100% organically grown wheat, good mountain water, organic wheat bran, kosher salt, fresh yeast. toppings: tomato sauce (organic tomatoes, fresh organic onions, fresh organic carrots, fresh organic celery, organic garlic, organic red wine, organic maple syrup, organic extra virgin olive oil, kosher salt, fresh organic herbs, organic black pepper, organic red pepper flakes), vegan mozzarella style shreds (filtered water, tapioca starch, coconut oil, non-gmo expeller pressed: canola and/or safflower oil, vegan natural flavors, sea salt, potato protein isolate, tricalcium phosphate, lactic acid (vegan), whole algal flour, konjac gum, xanthan gum, yeast extract), fresh parsley, herbs, kosher salt. Contains: wheat.*

Pure Fruit Juice

There are quite a few good juices on the market to choose from.

What I look for in particular is all natural fruit/plant derived ingredients with no added sugars.

I’ve often purchased the Honest Kid’s Organic juices packs. The juice now comes in 59-ounce plastic bottles. I noticed that the ingredients to the larger size container differed a little compared to the pouches and small boxed juices.

I wanted to purchase the product but was concerned about the “natural flavors” listed on the label. So I called up the company while at the supermarket.

The representative put me on hold but was unable to give me an immediate response and I was too impatient at the time to wait to receive an email from customer service as I was ready to make a purchase.

So I went for the Apple and Eve Organics. I purchased four containers, two of the Apple and two of the orange pineapple flavors. I’ve already been purchasing their 100% apple juice for my mom.

Apple and Eve also are forthcoming and explain where their natural flavors are sourced from:

“Our Organics line of juices contains only certified organically grown fruits. The fruits in our other juices, while not organically grown, do not contain any detectable pesticide residues.

Pesticides are either not being used on the fruit we purchase or the vigorous washing and scrubbing process they receive leaves no detectable residue.

Natural flavors contain the natural essences, extractives, essential oils, distillates and proteins derived from the fruit. They do not contain MSG or any artificial ingredients”.

All of Apple and Eve’s juice are Non GMO:

“No.We do not use any ingredients that have been produced through biotechnology.”

So I felt more comfortable and confident in choosing the product and I was not at all disappointed. The juices were so delicious, especially when served icy cold.

I also love Dole brand products. Their pineapple juice is 100% natural and non gmo.

Hearty Meals

Most of my family and people who I know are meat eaters and I’m fine with that. To each his or her own.

Everyone isn’t cut out to be vegan, vegetarian, or polo pescetarian (one able to eat chicken and seafood through a modified vegetarian diet yet strictly does not eat any form of red meat or pork).

My mother loves her burgers and pork chops!

We come from a family of farmers from down south Halifax, Virginia where my great-grandmother (my mother’s mother’s mother) and her husband and children would produce and sell their own original goods.

Born into a bloodline of hardworking southern cooks who genuinely dolled up and prepared healthy, nutritious, hearty meals that well-fed the entire household put a stamp on what we was accustomed to and till this day there is no exception.

As long as my mother eats healthy I’m happy for her and just make sure to pick out quality choices when I do the grocery shopping.

Just because an item is labelled vegan/vegetarian doesn’t at all mean that it is necessarily good or nutritious.

My mother does love some of my vegan and vegetarian selections though and agrees that their better than the other traditional products in certain areas. And a few have become her favorites!

Bob’s Red Mill

I love cornbread and corn muffins but a lot of corn products on the market are made with genetically modified organisms and I’m not fond of that at all.

I’d also prefer a cornbread mix that is prepared without any dairy, beef, or lard derivatives and also one without any artificial and harsh unpronounceable additives.

So I was excited when I came across Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free corn bread mix because the gluten-free version didn’t have any thing listed in the ingredients that I wasn’t able to eat from what I read on the bag.

Bob’s Red Mill is a brand that I purchase regularly.

I brought home two bags of the cornbread mix. I happened to check on their website before I attempted to make any cornbread and noticed that under the advertising of the product there was no “vegan” acknowledgement.

There was the statements assuring that the mix was gluten-free and kosher, but that was it.

So I got curious and called up the company and explained my concern and they told me that the vegan statement wasn’t listed due to the sugar probably being processed through bone char.

That explained it! It hadn’t dawned on me about the sugar.

In return, I was reimbursed for the $12 dollars that I had spent on the cornbread mixes.

I expected to receive a check in the mail but instead I received a ten-dollar bill along with two ones and a professional letter from Bob’s Red Mill company.

I appreciated the gesture.

Alternative Plant Based Yogurt

I was a kid when I first tasted yogurt back in the eighties. I wasn’t crazy about it back then and never became a fan of the product.

I also didn’t like strawberries as a child but sometimes as life goes on our taste buds change and as I got older I came to love what I now consider a delicious piece of fruit.

It was Dannon and Light and Lively yogurt that was popular when I was coming up and I didn’t like the particles of fruit mixed in with the dairy blend.

Last year, as I shopped at Target I saw a display of Silk dairy free vegan alternative yogurt all on sale. It was something new in their line of products.

I’ve already been hooked on their vanilla and organic vanilla soy milk for a while now so I was curious to try out these desserts.

I bought the vanilla, peach mango, and pineapple flavors and they were all delicious!

I don’t make a habit out of eating them but I take advantage of the fact that it is a tasty product made for vegans-and of course, non gmo that I can eat happily.

The item is always sold out at one of my neighborhood groceries, especially the vanilla. You have to grab it when you see it!

Luckily I don’t have to go too far to find it elsewhere.

I’ve also tried the Forager project vanilla cashew yogurt made with organic plant-based ingredients.

What attracted me to the product was their company’s stance on contributing to the betterment of our planet through promoting a more natural way of living to keep us healthier and more sustainable according to what I’ve read up on at their website.

However, their alternative yogurt was a bit on the watery side for me, just my opinion, but cheers to what they set out to accomplish and the options they have made available to us vegans, vegetarians and health fanatics.

Candle Cafe

I don’t like eating out at restaurants. I use to go a lot when I was in my twenties, however, now I’m more cautious about where and what I eat.

Two years ago while I worked the overnight shift in Manhattan I ordered from a strictly vegan restaurant called “Candle Cafe”.

A lady had told me about it when I mentioned to her my finicky eating habits. She told me her friends liked the place and said that their dishes was good.

I looked through a menu and googled some reviews before I took a chance then tried the place out for my self.

Though I never actually visited the restaurant that was located just a few blocks away from where I worked, I had my order delivered.

The very first time I purchased steamed broccoli, corn, and potato wedges which I enjoyed.

The second time I bought the same thing.

On the third occasion I dug into a Seitan burger loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, red onions, cashew cheese and tempeh bacon, and it was delicious and filling.

It was my very first “real” veggie/meatless burger!

I once purchased a black bean soy veggie burger at the grocery that didn’t even compare to that seitan blast, other than that I had never had a meatless burger before.

(I also had my first meatless soy meatballs in a spicy sauce from the hot food bar at whole foods a few months ago and they were great. Better than what I expected.)

The second time I ordered the Seitan burger I tried the zucchini fries along with it but my taste buds couldn’t tolerate them so I just stuck with the potato wedges instead.

I love zucchini prepared in other ways, though.

The burger was expensive, about $13 dollars I think it may be $18 now depending on the platter. It has been two years since I’ve ate from them.

I had read a lot of good reviews about Candle Cafe I never got to try the Chimichurri citrus herb seitan skewers that I’ve heard about but from my own experience yet the food was pretty good.

Candle Cafe has three different locations within Manhattan, New york.

Vegan Sweet Treats

I’m not a big sweets eater but I do at times acquire a taste for some treats.

I love Dr. Lucy’s cookies. I have been eating them for a while now, in fact she is the only brand of vegan cookie that I’ll eat so far.

I’ve tried the lemon, oatmeal, ginger and cinnamon flavors. The lemon and oatmeal are my favorites the ginger is not gingery enough for me but I love what goes into each batch of goodness.

All natural sources and dairy free. A vegan gluten-free non gmo verified product.

The cookies include garbanzo beans, chickpeas, sorghum, fava and other acceptable ingredients that I agree with.

Certified Cereal

I’m not into eating morning breakfast. I just eat when I get hungry yet I do like breakfast foods that I’d eat at any time of the day if or when I get a taste for it.

As I’m a very picky eater I just don’t eat any type of breakfast food that is on the market. I look out for certain things along with quality.

I tried two dry cereals by “One Degree” organic food brand a year or two ago. I bought a box of the sprouted brown rice crisps and the sprouted ancient maize flakes.

I ate the rice crisps in a bowl with soy milk and the flakes right out of the box as a snack.

I loved that the product wasn’t sugary.

I feel more comfortable and at ease eating from companies that make an effort to cater to those of us out there with special diets or meal plans. For me its been a way of life for a long time now and I’ll keep up with being choosy.

I haven’t bought anymore of the cereal since because I’m not a big cold cereal person but I would buy the product again if I get the taste for it.

I also picked up a pouch of the sprouted vanilla chia granola when it was on sale two for the price of one at my local Stop and Shop.

Love that One Degree specializes in transparent nutritional and beneficial ingredients by farmers and taking special care within the environment.

I also love that their labels have some of what I look out for such as the Non GMO project verified, the USDA organic seal, and even though I don’t have a problem with gluten they’re certified gluten-free and Bio Checked Non Glyphosate certified.

So there’s to happy healthy eating for those that like One Degree products or who’d like to try it out.

The company also offers veganic ancient and other variety breads, sprouted oats, organic sprouted flours, organic lentils, kernels and seeds.

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

“As I love different types of music including contemporary jazz. To me, music is one of the most beautiful “instrumental tunes” on the earth.

Everyone can find variety in selection and entertainment, so full of pizzazz! -excerpts taken from my one of my other owned blog post also titled Authentic Expression!” (https://misslatoya.wordpress.com/2016/01/13/authentic-expression/)

Pizzazz I state in the reflection of Vigorous spirit; energy and/or excitement. Along with that corresponding reflection of flair: A special or instinctive aptitude or ability for doing something well!

Right now I want to take my high-spirited/bubbly nature and get excited about what I in my own words have a “Jazzy pizzazz” for, and that is food!

Good eating, Good living, Good well-being.

Welcome to my blog that focuses on Mind, body, and spirit. Specifically maintaining the beauty and vibrance of the “Temple” the shell of our bodies. And to me, one of the most pleasing to the senses is what comes in the form of grub!

Who isn’t tempted by various selective foods that look good, smell good, taste good-and better yet that is good for you!

I am no expert chef just a health nut one with over thirty years now of being a vegetarian to strict vegan, a vitamin junkie, a cautious investigator of what is being put into our foods and very particular about ingredients and the preparations in which our foods undergo.

I’m into non GMO, a lot of organic products, sugars that do not undergo the process of bone char filtering, real olive oil that displays both harvest and expiration dates and that is quality seal certified, and so on.

I’m the food police and food criminal as I inspect, arrest, and consume!
