Carrots And Carrot Juice

I love fresh carrots! I always have, they are just so darn tasty and a great snack to crunch and chew on. Not only are they delicious, but highly nutritious!

I keep carrots in the house. Every time I go grocery shopping, I purchase this healthy vegetable and I eat them practically every day.

I remember during my teens when I juiced carrots for the very first time. The taste of the beverage was unbelievable. My mother and I gulped down our carrot juice with such pleasure.

Be sure to incorporate a generous serving of carrots or carrot juice into your diet or daily routine and get plenty of that vital beta carotene along with a heap of other vitamins and minerals to fill up your body with.

If one can afford to, buy and eat organic carrots and other vegetables and fruits as well!

Relief In The Bathroom

You do not have to spend an eternity or eventually die on the toilet from a strenuous or relentless effort to relieve yourself of fecal elimination.

Bowel movements can be very difficult at times with constipation and bowels that sometimes feel confined within the intestines, refusing to come out. It often makes one feel bloated or uncomfortable.

I cured my occasional constipation issues a long time ago with Turmeric.

When I was in my twenties, I pooped three times a day with no problem. If I would eat too much starch here and there, I had to deal with the strain of emptying my bowels. From time to time or once in a while I would get a high level of constraint or restriction with a pronounced lack of ease or no ease at all. It is then that I had to take serious action. I was in my thirties when this circumstance had taken place.

Constipation is usually associated with hardened feces or large ones with softness in texture unable to thoroughly pass through the rectum completely.

When I had my severe constipation years ago where I had to literally take my finger and hand to dig out the doo-doo, I put an end to the condition by fortunately coming across Turmeric. Even after I had stopped consuming the curcuma longa supplements, I didn’t have a problem with excretion until once more years following.

Aside from Turmeric, the second most simple solution is to just consume more high fiber foods into your diet. At least that was and is the other remedy for me.
A lot of my favorite foods happen to be fiber-rich and I go to the bathroom very frequently and with total ease and relaxation.

The fact that I have been a vegan/vegetarian for thirty-three years may contribute to my healthy digestive system, although fiber and/or Tumeric can and will do great wonders for anyone who properly balances them within their daily lifestyle.

So, gulp down copiously on healthy fruits, vegetables, seeds, beans/legumes and grains that are heavily loaded with beneficial fiber. Your body not only will be producing comfort in the bathroom, but satisfactory within overall health as well.

Fiber and Turmeric both do a body well.

You can safely and naturally choose one or the other, or both, according to one’s own different personal need, preference, and/or bodily toleration.

Fruit For The Spirit: Crucial For Life

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. -Philippians 1:6

Just as our bodies need vital nutrients to sustain our physical health we need the essential nourishment of the mind, spirit, and soul as well. But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” -Matthew 4:4

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. -John 15:4-5

Get encouraged and motivated by inspiration that will enrich your daily walk in life with my scripture and faith based self-written devotionals.

God has prompted me through the holy spirit to utilize my talent of writing to share and spread the message of hope, truth, and salvation to all who are called.

I also share my life experiences and encounters through all seven of my websites/blogs through the gifts, wisdom and knowledge bestowed to me as I travel through as a sojourner on this earth.

This world will eventually come to pass. Until then, let us be prepared and ready to store up treasures for ourselves in heaven.

We are not to live for this temporary life here on the present earth, but for the new Kingdom to come.

Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear.
Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.
And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:19-34

Healthy Fats

I love peanuts, sunflower seeds, cashews, pecans, and walnuts. The only thing about the walnuts is that I was kind of allergic to them.

Nuts are very nutritious and good for health the only drawback is that they all have to be eaten in moderation. Too much of these fats eaten too often can raise unhealthy cholesterol levels due to their high calorie density although they are a naturally vegan food and rich in essential vitamins and minerals.

Nuts are a great source of unsaturated fat but they are also high in fats altogether. A well-proportioned diet of nuts occasionally or in a small daily amount depending on the individual can lower or control blood cholesterol levels and support a healthy heart among other things. Like I said, though, be careful not to overdo it.

Nuts are delicious and we can get carried away eating them.

Fresh Pears

I had some fresh organic pears yesterday. I bought them last week. Six came in a bag. I ate five since one had fell to the floor.

They were firm, crunchy, and delicious. I had not eaten any pears in a very long time. So long I can’t even remember. I love pears, they were the brown ones with tint of green.

I always buy and keep fresh fruit, especially apples, cherry tomatoes, oranges, tangerines, carrots and bananas.

Pears are highly nutritious they are rich in dietary fiber, plant compounds, and essential nutrients! This favorite snack of mine is also said to be able to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes when consumed regularly in a well-balanced diet.

Most fresh fruit and vegetables are excellent at combating and preventing many health issues anyhow.

Air-Popped

For years, I had always popped popcorn kernels with oil.

I read about air-popping corn kernels over the stove yet didn’t think it was actually possible as I tried once and failed. All that had resulted was burnt kernels.

Something recently inspired me to give this oil-free popping a try once again because after reading another article I realized where I went wrong.

I didn’t shake the pot of kernels every one to two minutes like I should have.

So I gathered my stick-free (non-stick) pot, heated it on medium to high flame, then poured in some corn kernels and covered the pot with the top.

I frequently shook the kernels around and before I knew it they started to pop!

Ever since, I’ve been air-popping popcorn like a professional.

It is so much healthier to pop our own popcorn. To pop it without the use of oils and without adding salt which make the grain the ultimate healthy snack that it actually is.

Purely natural popcorn is packed with nutritional value (including fiber) and it tastes good too!

Corn is just all around delicious period!

Yesterday Evening Dinner

I had a nice and quiet enjoyable evening yesterday. Full of peace and comfort.

I stopped personally-in my heart-celebrating Thanksgiving years ago (just like all the repetitive holidays), it’s just another day to me.

Nevertheless, I fixed and served sliced turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy along with string beans and diced carrots.

I didn’t eat any turkey or mashed potatoes.

I ate a purely vegan meal last night. When I eat mashed potatoes for myself I cook and eat them without the use of any animal fats or ingredients.

Morning Start

We should wake up each day giving our thanks and praise to the Lord. Then, we should continue to speak to him all throughout the day as often as possible.

We need his comfort and guidance. He is always with us his children, ready to hear and to instruct us within our daily walk with him. -latoya lawrence

After my initial morning talk/prayer to God, the first thing I did when I got up this morning was take my vitamins then I fixed me some breakfast.

I peeled and ate five tangerines along with two bananas, and then a while later, I made myself a full small pot of oatmeal.

By the grace of God I’ve been eating even healthier meals. Mostly fruits, vegetables and legumes.

It’s important for us to watch the things we eat and to prepare our own nutritious meals instead of buying heavily processed foods that aren’t beneficial to a good well-being.

Well-Rested

I stayed up late last night up into the wee hours of the morning watching some of my old favorite television shows as I frequently do here and there. Last night I viewed the Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, Mannix, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Highway Patrol and then Dragnet.

I love old shows and movies, there are so many on my list that it would be impossible to name all within a day.

I don’t stay up nearly as much as I use to watching television or doing anything else as nowadays a sleepiness creeps upon me that I do not try to fight. It is very important to get a good night’s rest or afternoon nap. We should never deprive our body of the sleep it needs. Rest keeps us additionally healthy and helps our minds to function better.

I sleep very well normally and It feels so good to be secured within the comforts of a welcoming bed.

Water

Juice is wonderful and delicious to drink and all so soothing and satisfying when drunk ice-cold.

Sometimes I get full from drinking juice while other times the sugar within the juice will cause me to thirst for water. At times when I drink water, I will get full, on other occasions, drinking water will make me hungry for food.

It’s intriguing how the body works; our bodies are a remarkable constitution within the fashions in which they function.

We all know that water is essential and beneficial in all ways and for all types of use and drinking adequate amounts of water to our preference and needs are a contribution to a healthy state of hydration and overall well-being.

So, include water within a daily or frequent time of the week and enjoy the refreshing taste as well as the nutritional value that this purely natural beverage has to offer.

Corona Virus

"My Voice" Weblog By Miss LaToya Lawrence

It’s sad that it took this Covid-19 virus to wake people up about being clean and thoroughly hygienic amongst themselves as well as in social settings.

Buses and trains should have already been getting disinfected on a regular basis.

I had practiced handwashing and cautious social contact within my natural daily living all throughout my early childhood on up. When I worked in retail, I use to wear gloves as a rule and as a method of common sense.

Ignorant people use to laugh at me for my so called “germophobic” ways; smart people use to praise me. Now many are trying to adapt to a mode of hygienic precaution.

Eventually this will all come to pass just like everything else in life. The universe speaks within so many ways and particular occurrences happen for a reason. I haven’t been worried at all about this Covid-19. It is a sign of the…

Exercise

I never considered myself an exercise person due to the fact that I don’t exercise.

Then, I had to remember and realize how walking is a major form of exercise that I’ve done frequently for quite most of my life.

I use to enjoy walking to a high degree so much that on days of beautiful spring and summer weather I’d walk home, and to a relatively long destination, instead of taking a cab or public transportation if the stroll was within a considerably reasonable distance and location for me to attain.

I don’t do arobics or stretches the only type of stretching I do is when I wake up in the morning or to flex when my limbs and body gets stiff or tired.

Nevertheless, I am very energetic and I get a workout from the exertion of my everyday activities, especially while I’m at work and constantly on the move.

So while some of us are not into the strenuous or disciplined acts of routine exercise we have the unintentional ability, and result, of being bodily toned and healthily fit simply by doing our regular movements through out each day.

Not So Hygienic

I have a long history of working in retail. I’ve worked at JC Penney’s, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Sears and Roebuck, Burlington and a few other retail outlets.

I’ve held multiple positions within the stores and one thing I found appalling was when it came to people trying on shoes and clothing.

I’ve worked in fitting rooms, the shoe department, the storage rooms, on the sales floors, central wrap/packaging and shipping, and so on.

I use to see people come in trying on underwear and swimsuits that would be placed back on shelves and racks for others to try on or to purchase.

Other apparel such as pants, dresses, and shirts would be tried on while people were sweaty and smelly then placed back onto racks to be sold. They would even leave behind deodorant stains. Not to mention how many items of clothing ended up piled upon the store floors from day to day, and night to night, just to eventually be sold and taken home by some unsuspecting individual who had no idea what the clothing had been through.

Apparel and underwear are usually turned inside out, stepped on, dragged, thrown down, and mishandled only to be recovered and neatly replenished back onto the sales floor shelves and racks as if nothing ever happened.

Handbags and accessories would also be disheveled and scattered about.

People would try on shoes with dirty and smelly feet, the inside of the shoe department storage room often reeked of funky feet because the loud odor from numerous people’s feet lingered behind.

I personally don’t want to put on and purchase a bra or panty that someone else has tried on the idea is disgusting, and such a turn off. When I was coming up stores didn’t allow this to be done.

My bra and underwear always came inside sealed boxes and packages I never bought loose underwear that were on hangers or piled onto shelves.

Working at these stores, I had access to the brand new items of merchandise since I handled unopened boxes that were shipped in daily for me to stock and to place out upon the sales floors so I made sure to get my hands on items that had never been touched or worn by anyone If I planned on buying anything inside the store.

The experience also inspired me to be extra cautious at how I purchase at stores from then on, knowing how careless many establishments operate.

It’s a shame these stores fail to incorporate higher standards of conduct within reinforcing a proper rule and responsibility of maintenance among and toward customers, store associates, and the goings on behind the scenes.

Puppy Love/Doggy Days

I eagerly took good care of all the puppies and dogs that I’ve had throughout my life.

Canines bring such joy and richness into our lives so I made sure the one’s who came to live with me were enriched and well pleased.

It came natural, who could help from treating an adorable puppy or dog with ultimate love, and genuine care?

I remember when I was in my teens I tried to brush one of my dog’s teeth yet she made it impossible as she constantly licked the toothpaste.

While I kept my canines teeth and gums healthy in other ways, Milk Bone puppy and dog biscuits was an excellent remedy for helping to keep her breath fresh, and mouth happy.

In fact, Milk Bones were the only type of dog food my canine would touch, except for a special high quality dog food I use to feed two of my canines that brought out a gorgeous sheen to their already healthy coats.

She was strictly a table food eater.

Working With Alzheimer’s And Dementia

I’ve had extensive training in cognitive function and disorders as I worked in facilities and homes with those living and coping with forms and stages of dementia.

I’ve also observed hours of expert Teepa Snow footage through one of my past company’s orientation and training sessions.

I was trained under the supervision of a nurse to administer out medication and to evaluate and monitor the behavior of clients that I and others were assigned to while we occupied overnight shifts on the floor of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia unit.

There would be two of us on duty in charge of thirteen patients that we had to check on every hour when they were in their beds.

In general, those with dementia who repeated the same things over again never annoyed me, and if they’d get frustrated, or non compliant, I’d just wait until everything was all fresh and new to them again.

In more severe cases one just had to have patience and use interpersonal skills of effective method and technique.

In dealing with individuals who have Alzheimer’s and Dementia, everything begins with the proper way in how to approach and communicate with them, and this comes with understanding the nature and progression of their disease, and the way in how they process and react.

Unsanitary/Sanitary Practices

I’m a germaphobe to a certain extent.

I don’t touch outside doorknobs, hold onto transportation poles, press elevator buttons, or use ATM machines without holding onto a tissue or piece of paper towel within the process, environments are just too nasty and hazardous.

I’ve seen people sneeze into their hand then use that same hand to swipe their metro cards into the same apparatus as everybody else.

There was a woman who went to kiss a male associate right after giving another man a blow job, if he hadn’t been warned ahead of time of her actions by others who were present, bodily remnants of seminal fluids would have lingered onto his face or mouth.

Long before I ever worked in the health care field I took extra precautions. I always kept my body and hands clean, I never let people or strangers freely kiss on me, and I carried disinfectant wipes or tissues/paper towels with me constantly.

I never sat on public toilets without placing toilet tissue or disposable toilet covers over the seats, I do the same upon using the toilets in peoples homes. I don’t take any chances in this day and age.

I watched a lady client of mine years ago dip her hand down into her pants, and literally scratch her pubic area, she then used that same unwashed hand to use her telephone. The exact telephone I had to clock in and out on to verify my attendance and scheduled assignments.

I didn’t touch anything within her home without wearing vinyl, latex, or nitrile gloves back then, and that is the genuine truth.

Sandwiches And Cold Cuts

I was up and about early yesterday morning trotting around in Manhattan, New York

I had gotten my hands on a heated, cutely packaged, and healthily prepared sandwich.

The roasted onion, garlic, tomato, kale, olive oil and mozzarella melted on chicken layered inside of hero bread was what I picked out to bring as a treat home to my mother.

She praised the sandwich. “It’s on the style of a vegetarian type of sandwich”, she had said to me after eating the food.

My mom loves her sandwiches and I often inspire her to eat healthy.

I buy her boar’s head cold cuts to put on whole wheat bread or the stonefire brand of roasted garlic naan flatbread I introduced her to, though, I’ve never actually eaten the product myself.

I have an eye for what I know she’d probably like and she really enjoyed the flatbread so I continued to get it for her from time to time.

I always read ingredients before making a purchase, however, my mother isn’t as picky as I am when it comes to certain food, and she isn’t vegan, vegetarian, or pollo pescetarian, but she does like vegan and vegetarian dishes.

What I appreciate about boar’s head is they don’t use animal rennet for their cheese only vegetable rennet.

They also have an organic non gmo selection of natural crafted cold cuts to choose from. I purchased the “Simplicity” mild cheddar cheese and roasted turkey breast once.

Hazardous Workplace

About a week or two ago I was asked by one of my employer’s, because I do both retail and healthcare work, if I’d cover a three day fill in shift.

So I agreed to work the temporary assignment and I was given a little prior information and detail into the case.

When I arrived to my client’s residence I inhaled the strong odor of urine as soon as I walked through the door.

The mother of my client greeted me, lead me toward her son’s bedroom, then introduced me to him.

On the way through the home, I also inhaled a nasty odor reeking from the woman who was up in age.

The man was in his fifties and paralyzed on one side of his body due to a stroke. He was also overweight and wore a diaper.

I told him the diaper was too small as the fasten wasn’t reachable to cross over to the other side.

The man had gotten slightly offended by my words and uttered out to me, “I hate when people come and tell me the diaper is too small. These diapers are not too small I’ve been wearing this size diaper for years”.

I hadn’t meant any harm but the diaper was a bit too small to give him adequate protection to urinate and to move his bowels within.

In all honesty, I don’t know if manufacturers actually designed disposable diapers large enough to accommodate someone of his measurements.

Anyhow, we got past the disagreement, and I helped him out of bed with his diaper that didn’t properly fit, and all.

I helped him dress, put his leg brace on, I helped him balance himself, then I motioned him into his wheelchair and wheeled him into the porch to take his medication.

His mother was unable to push his wheelchair around the house because of his heavy weight. He needed someone to attend to him day and night. I was only there for the day shift he already had someone scheduled to come later on within the evening.

I’m between one hundred and thirty-five pounds to one hundred and forty yet I was able to lift him by the back of his pants to give him a jolt and I was able to push his chair.

It was all about technique to me, though, the man was indeed quite a load to bear, especially carrying the dead weight on one side of the body.

A physician came later that morning as a routine visit. This is how I found out exactly how much my client weighed. The doctor acknowledged the man was five hundred and thirty-five pounds, also addressing that he was morbidly obese, and since he was unable to proficiently stand or walk there was no way for him to exercise sufficiently.

He would just have to sit and lay and accumulate more pounds and additional health problems.

My mother didn’t understand how in the hell I helped to lift and push my client’s five hundred pound ass around his residence and tolerate the foul smells in which I professionally did.

The mother and the son were both nice and welcoming toward me and the man had apologized for his earlier attitude. The rest of the time that I had spent there had turned out very well, and the family was looking forward to my return.

However, I never made it back there. It just wasn’t meant to be. I had to call out for the other two days I was supposed to show up. My spirit just wouldn’t allow for me to go back under those hazardous conditions.

I also couldn’t take the chance of my client getting nervous due to the man’s confidence issues that he had revealed to me.

What if an accident occurred and he happened to have fallen on me? Then I may have been the one in need of attention and medical care.

Therapy Dogs

When I worked at one of the assisted living facilities I often occupied there were therapy dogs often brought in to offer emotional support, mental stimulation, and companionship toward the elderly.

In my opinion, therapy animals are lovely resources for any age group to pleasantly and significantly benefit from.

For those who are receptive to canines therapy dogs are a great enhancement to the lives of people and within the lifting up of the spirits to those in need of a humane connection.

It is particularly very assistive within the elderly environment to receive the therapeutic attributes in which a loving, friendly, affectionate, and comforting trained dog can provide to them.

The dogs themselves deserve the proper care and respect in return for all they do and the sacrifice they undertake in order to cater to our charitable (human) causes.

Canines have feelings and needs too and sometimes people don’t take into account how they may get overwhelmed and taken advantage of within their own doghood life periods.

Dogs are living beings also and shouldn’t constantly have their precious moments stolen away.

They need our therapeutic modes of solicitous and considerate treatment as well.

Bad Bodily Odors

One doesn’t have to work in the medical field or as a caregiver to come across some of the worst odors.

We often smell a lot of funk through out everyday life depending where we’re at and who we are around.

It’s just those of us who’ve held jobs within a healthcare setting tend to and are more prone to encounter bad hygiene at an enormous rate as our workplaces cater primarily to people and wellness issues.

An array of individuals commonly walk through the doors and occupy residence at hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

Us people who undertake caregiver roles deal with people constantly all day long on a day to day basis with all type of conditions and ailments and are bound to definitely come into contact with notorious odor.

I remember how once, before I ever thought about working in the medical/ healthcare field, my mother and I were inside the emergency room of a hospital when this bum came in drooling from the mouth with a tall can of beer.

After he’d sat and been there for a while, a female medical technician who’d entered the lobby of the place from time to time finally went to respond to him.

Once she fully observed him and paid more attention to him she noticed his behavior, appearance, and the can of beer he had brought in with him.

The medical technician turned to look at my mother and I and said “Why didn’t you tell me he had a can of beer? She then said aloud, “Oh great, now I’m going to have to deal with his stinking feet”.

I internally sympathized with her because she seemed like a decent person of substance.

With all of this lady’s experience and familiarity within her field of work she knew just by looking at the man what she was in for by having to attend to him that evening.

Some people’s feet smell so bad that it’s impossible to get the odor out of fabrics.

There was a guy who came to my house once and he had his bare feet resting against the carpet of the room.

The odor had gotten trapped into the carpet and no matter how much I vacuumed the odor wouldn’t leave or fade away I even tried sprinkling baking soda to kill the smell and that was useless.

I ended up having to eventually pull up the carpet to throw it away.

I’ve also been in a house with a guy who’s odor was so bad the funk had gotten embedded within the mattress and he was well aware of the problem as he told me he had tried everything from ammonia to drive away the smell yet it was still set in.

These occurrences are nothing new.

I remember a neighbor of mine had to throw away her upholstered chair on account of another female neighbor who had smelled it up so bad.

A relative of mine had to throw away an article of clothing she had loaned to one of her great-nieces because her underarms had stunk up the material and ruined the chance of her ever wearing the item again.

There are so many experiences I could share too many to write about, stories in which would make one holler, “Woo!”

Natural Sources Of Vitamin C

Are you getting enough of that Vitamin C?

If anyone, in general, is a smoker they definitely need some as smoking depletes the body of this wonderful nutrient.

I made sure relatives of mine who smoked had gotten their continuous adequate amounts of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is very good for circulation, blood vessels, wound healing (silica is also excellent for tissue repair), and a healthy immune system. I know, I’ve been taking vitamin C for years, within supplement form as well as in fruit and vegetable form.

Vitamin C is also good for teeth and bone health (silica is also excellent for the bones too) as well as other vital bodily functions.

Some of my favorite juices and foods contain and are naturally high in vitamin C.

I use to buy and eat fresh pineapples constantly in my younger days I still buy and drink pineapple juice in the current, along with the sour temptations of lemons and lemonade.

I eat tomatoes and I love tomato juice as well as tomato soup.

Of course, oranges are full of natural vitamin C and I eat plenty of those as well.

Cantaloupe and watermelon are also good sources of vitamin C.

And, don’t forget apples and apple juice which have their fair share of naturally incorporated vitamin C.

Nature’s Path Cereal

The early part of last year I had tried Nature’s Path cereals for the very first time and I was not disappointed.

I tried the Sunrise Crunchy Maple and I loved the taste. I knew if I liked the maple I’d love the vanilla.

What attracted me to the product was that is was organic, vegan/vegetarian, non gmo, and made with an array of wholesome ingredients.

I’ll be buying more of these two flavor cereals within the future.

Sunrise Maple Crunch:

INGREDIENTS:

Brown rice flour*, whole grain corn meal*, cane sugar*, corn meal*, yellow corn flour*, inulin*, maple syrup*, quinoa*, natural maple flavor, flax seeds*, sea salt, buckwheat flour*, amaranth*, molasses*, tocopherols (vitamin E). *Organic. Produced in a facility that uses tree nuts, peanuts and soy.

Sunrise Crunchy Vanilla:

INGREDIENTS:

Whole grain corn meal*, brown rice flour*, cane sugar*, corn meal*, yellow corn flour*, inulin*, quinoa*, natural vanilla flavor, flax seeds*, sea salt, amaranth*, buckwheat flour*, molasses*, tocopherols (vitamin E). *Organic. Produced in a facility that uses tree nuts, peanuts and soy.

Vitamin Supplements

I highly recommend supplements that are vegan/vegetarian suitable, non gmo, without fillers, and that are labeled with legitimate seals and certifications of high quality, assuring the product consists of laboratory testing to confirm accuracy of contents as well as safety of consumption.

I was started on vitamins at a very early age.

When I got older and became extremely health conscious, I began my own independent voyage further and deeper into the benefits of supplements and their advantages.

My teenage years was spent evolving and gaining knowledge about spiritual and physical maintenance.

I consume both vitamin and herbal supplements and over my life long journey of indulging within the assistance of these fantastic tools in which consist of medicinal properties, and remedy,  I can genuinely attest to the optimal satisfaction and wellbeing these lifesavers indeed provide.

Olive Oil

Real olive oil will leave a specific recognizable tingle within the back of the throat I’ve experienced this numerous times. It is a sign of the purity and pungency of the oil.

I continuously prepare and use olive oil in a lot of my foods. I first began using olive oil during my teenage years. I had got it in the tin can it use to come in.

I don’t just buy any olive oil displayed on the shelves of the supermarket because I know for a fact all oils labeled as 100% pure olive oil are actually not legitimate.

There are many popular well known brands who claim to sell authentic olive oil yet their statements are false and have been proven so.

There are only two olive oil companies I have trusted and bought from for over a long period of time now and they are California Olive Ranch, and Lucini. I had researched them prior to purchasing their oils. They both have the harvest dates as well as expiration dates located on their glass bottles.

Of course, there are other legitimate brands out there who do sell authentic olive oils these are just the particular two I frequently buy.

I also look out for the seals and certifications such as Non Gmo, Certified Extra Virgin Olive Oil Associations, USDA and so on.

Apple Pie And Apple Sauce (Applelicious Is Apple Wholesome)

I love apples, especially the yellow ones.

I love apples that are both sweet and tart I love biting into the juicy and crisp flesh of the fruit. I don’t like apples that are kind of soft, they’ve got to be firm.

The Red Delicious and the Granny smith variety are my favorites, McIntosh are okay but those other three are my specialties.

I was never a major pie eater as I never cared much for pie the only type of pie I would eat was homemade sweet potato growing up. My mother liked pies and when she tried pumpkin pie for the first time a few years back she told me it tasted similar to sweet potato pie yet it was even better. So she is now fond of pumpkin pie.

I never tried Pumpkin pie though I do love apple pie. Apple pie is my mother’s favorite among all the other pies she’s eaten also. My mother reminisced to me how in down south Virginia our family use to make some yummy apple pies from scratch with fresh granny smith green apples.

I use to eat apple pies frequently during my twenties, I loved biting and chewing into the crust of the pie as the whole entire parts of the pastry was so delicious, and I use to drink cold milk along with eating them.

There were certain types of pie that I didn’t like and didn’t want to eat I’d just nibble on the crust because I wasn’t fond of the fruity sections prepared within the pies. Apple pie was the only pie that I could delightfully stomach down, I guess it all depends on how a pie is crafted.

Applesauce was a dessert I’ve always eaten and enjoyed I also like it blended with cinnamon spice. I had purchased the Santa Cruz brand organic applesauce a few times in the past and the product was of very good quality. Applesauce tastes really good cold and it is a really healthy light food to snack on.

My mother fed me applesauce as a child just as I’m sure a lot of our parents have, and it is loved, and a favorite, among the young and the old. It is a pleasant option for those who have to eat pureed foods and a convenient way for some to help swallow a pill down with, or to mix powdered medicine into for a tolerable intake.

Apple juice, another treasure and extension to indulge in, is a drink we constantly keep in the house as the beverage is both nutritious and healing for the body.

What would we do if we didn’t have apples to incorporate into the various forms of our diets? I don’t even want to imagine a circumstance of that nature, not the way I love to eat apples, apple pie, applesauce, and drink apple juice.

If I loss my “apples” I’d probably end up in the “nut” house. Nevertheless, nuts are nutritious too.

Potatoes

One can do so many things with potatoes.

They can be baked, fried, boiled, mashed and turned into a variety of scrumptious dishes to enjoy.

I just made some potatoes yesterday. I cut eight whole potatoes in half and placed them into a pot of water seasoned with onion, garlic, cumin, thyme, pepper, salt, oregano and parsley.

When they were done and the majority of water had boiled out of the pot I scooped them onto a plate and spread a plant-based butter made with olive oil over them and they came out fantastic. They were the texture of luscious baked potatoes, they had boiled perfectly.

My favorite of all potato dishes have and will always be French fries.

There is nothing like homemade fries cooked in sunflower oil. I peeled, cut up, and fried so many potatoes when I was younger that I knew which type of oil brought out the best taste within them above all the others.

I even fried and ate so many homemade French fries one night that my body had absorbed too much grease and my stomach felt like it was split in half. I’m so glad my mother knew exactly to give me an alka seltzer back then it had cured the problem almost immediately.

Not With My Pooch

I’m all for kissing the pooch and letting the pooch sleep in the bed.

I’m guilty of these actions as I’ve done it myself for the majority of my life and I loved every bit of those pleasant, enjoyable moments.

However, taking a bath with the pooch, and letting the pooch drink and eat out of the same cup and plate as one is going a little too far, yet I’ve seen people do it and it suits them just fine.

As much as I loved the pooches that I had I do have limitations and never would share my bathwater with them while I was in it, or share the cup and plate in which I have to drink and eat off of with them. I don’t even do those things with other human beings.

Time In The Tub

A shower, of course, is cleaner than taking a bath, but both a bath and a shower is very therapeutic for the mind and the body.

Some people sit in the tub to soak for a bit then stand up to wash and rinse off in the shower.

With a bath one can lay back and relax and soothe effortlessly.

To enhance and enliven the bath it’s delighting to add bubbles for a sparkling foamy appeal, and feel.

The only down side to indulging within the penetrating waters of a lovely hot bath is that one has to get out of the tub before the dirt retracts back on them.

This is why some run the shower afterwards in order to assure a total clean.

However, a bubble bath would indeed prevent that problem by the soapy waters enveloping and dissolving the dirt within the tub while also stopping a ring of dirt from circling around the bathtub once the water is completely drained out.

I use to take a lot of bubble baths when I was much younger it made having a bath more enticing and fun.

Dole Organic Bananas

I went and did a little grocery shopping this past week and purchased two bags of bananas by Dole and they were organic.

The bananas tasted so good and fresh. They were a little bit more expensive than the non organic bananas. I was aware Dole sold organic bananas yet I had never came across them within any of my local grocery stores.

As now the circumstance has changed and the bananas are available at one of my particular neighborhood supermarkets I’ll continue to buy and eat them.

Cheesy Delight (Cheesylicious!)

As a youngster, during my very early years, I grew up eating cheese loving and enjoying the delicious meals which are made with the ingredient.

Some of my favorites were macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, parmesan cheese sprinkled over my spaghetti, baked ziti, lasagna and cheesecake.

Once I came to know and was aware of how cheese was actually processed it was a complete turnoff  to me aside from becoming a vegan/vegetarian at the age of fourteen.

For those vegetarians who do eat dairy cheese they are able to, of course, purchase the brands that are made with vegetable rennet. I know Cabot, Boar’s Head, and Land O’ Lakes wasn’t using animal rennet (the stomach lining of calves and goats) I had phoned up these companies years ago inquiring about the matter.

Nevertheless, I only eat non dairy plant based cheese.

I love cashew mozzarella style vegan cheese.

We can still delight within our favorite dishes if we choose or prefer not to eat old fashion traditionally manufactured cheeses.

Homemade Popsicles

When I was about fifteen or sixteen a family associate and I was at her home and she came up with the idea to make some ices on a stick.

So we made kool aid and filled up the ice trays with the flavored juice mix we had fixed and placed popsicle sticks within the center of each ice cube as they began to freeze to a icy texture.

When the Ice cubes froze solid we released them from the tray and delightfully sucked all the juiciness out as we held them by their sticks.

It was so cute and the dessert came out pretty good.

These days I have advanced, of course, only to use natural pure fruit juice, and the proper equipment for a richer, fuller, and more flavorful delicious experience to enjoy.

Cigarettes

I’ve never smoked. I never had the desire to, and I don’t ever plan to.

Everyone within the home I grew up in smoked.

It is a nasty habit and one in which is quite addictive to the point of some individuals lighting and trying to get a drag from the filter of a cigarette butt.

The act of puffing on a stem of tobacco loaded with harmful additives made no sense to me.

The smoke from cigarettes is annoying to me as it goes up my nostrils to burn and to interrupt my breaths of clean, fresh air. It’s bad enough we have to inhale the pollutants and toxins within the outdoor air I didn’t need to inhale the poison in my home too.

These chemicals such as nicotine and the like sneak and get inside our bodies without us even using or indulging in the substance.

My doctor found a touch of nicotine in my urine once and she told me it was from second hand smoke. I was so disgusted.

When I smell people smoking drugs such as marijuana or cess I get sick to my stomach and sometimes have to take a poop as my body is stimulated to release out the toxins I had caught a whiff from.

I’m not knocking anyone who smokes I just don’t understand the point within doing so.

Interracial Couples/Relationships

If some people date and get married outside of their race who cares?

How does it affect the lives of others except for those who are negative and don’t know how to unjustifiably stay out of other peoples business.

I’d be more concerned about an undesirable mating with someone of substance, regardless of whatever race they are from because trash and degenerate people come within all colors, ethnicities, and nationalities, as this is a significant factor to mess up the bloodline.

Those are the type and kinds of people who need to stick with their own kind.

It shouldn’t be about color or race, but about one’s level and mentality, one’s character and dignity.

If specific people are able to relate to one another, love and respect one another, they have every right to peacefully join together with each other, whether in friendship or within companionship.

In reality, there will always be individuals who stubbornly hold their prejudices and cause friction on account of their hatred or intolerance yet it shouldn’t hinder anyone from being with who they want, being who they are, and living how they want to live.

Same Sex Couples

We almost cannot say gay, lesbian, or homosexual, or anything anymore because so many people are taking offense to certain labels and remarks whereas many others of us don’t mean any harm.

People are getting into trouble for just voicing their opinions and truths and some of this nonsense has gone too far.

This “me too” movement and the recognition of intolerance for discrimination against all category of people is indeed great, however, some people need to cool down and at the same time don’t start to take away our freedom of speech within the long run.

People are scared to speak on certain things due to the fact they could lose everything depending on what position and what area of employment and life they’re situated in.

Nevertheless, I’ll continue to speak my mind.

I don’t care who has sexual relations with who. Whether it is two men together, two women together, a man and a woman together, or people who are bisexual and go both ways.

I could care less as their lifestyle and the nature in which some of them were born has absolutely nothing to do with me or my life.

I’ve never had any personal negative feelings towards them. They are regular people just like everyone else who have their own preferences. I like individuals who are different and this is a versatile world.

I’m asexual, and proud to be, and one should be proud of who they are, and able to live in peace. I judge people by their character not by their ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Why people are hostile toward gays, lesbians, and transgender is beyond me. What they do and how they live their life should not matter to anyone if they are not bothering anyone and are not a danger to society. And, anyone can be a danger to society regardless of their sexuality.

People going around hating, assaulting, and killing other people simply because they are not heterosexual is ridiculous.

Mouth-Watering Watermelon

Oh, the melon family. I like the honeydew and the cantaloupe, however, nothing compares to the watermelon, to me.

Watermelon is such an appropriate summer fruit, but all fruit is appropriate for the summer, and all year around too, when certain one’s are within their seasons.

I haven’t had any watermelon since earlier in the spring and it was so icy cold, tasty, and ripe.

Watermelon is also nutritious and is a natural diuretic.

I remember when my family use to buy whole fresh quality watermelons straight from the trucks in travel from down south. They use to be the best. Nowadays, anything could be low-grade off those particular trucks.

I never get tired of eating good watermelon I’m going to get me some real soon.

The local grocery where I go keeps the watermelon stacked on ice and I bring the melon home to store in the refrigerator to get further chilled to my likeness.

I usually slice the large fruit in half and eat it with a spoon, it’s less messy to eat it that way, and it is also a convenient approach or method.

Oh, I can’t wait to get my hands on some great mouth-watering watermelon!

So Chocolate

My mother made some chocolate cupcakes a few days ago with cake mix. The aroma smelled so good as the dessert baked.

I don’t eat chocolate. The doctor told me to stay away from chocolate and coca cola when I was a young child. I use to get unbearable stomach aches and my physician had determined the reason was from my consumption of eating the chocolate and drinking the coca cola.

I was allowed to drink 7up and Sprite and other light colored sodas but no Dr. Pepper or Rootbeer. I never liked Dr. Pepper and Rootbeer anyway.

A paramedic once asked me if I had any allergens and I told him about what the doctor had diagnosed many years ago before and the medical technician told me that it was probably due to the caffeine in the chocolate and dark sodas.

Chocolate was my favorite flavor when I was a kid I wanted chocolate everything. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, chocolate donuts, chocolate candy, especially Hershey’s kisses and candy bars.

However, I did of course, leave all of the chocolate alone. Vanilla became my favorite flavor, chiefly french vanilla.

My mother’s cupcakes reminded me of the old days. I remember when we use to bake cakes all of the time and how she would buy chocolate morsels and make homemade chocolate chip cookies from scratch.

As I was growing up I ate yellow cakes with white icing along with oatmeal, ginger, coconut, and vanilla cookies.

I haven’t been too much of a sweets eater since my teens on up into adulthood, however, I do occasionally get those natural “sweet tooth” urges, those moments when I desire to indulge in a tasty dessert, or two. I just eat health consciously, ensuring the products are made with the specific ingredients of quality and preference.

The Fourth Of July/Comfort For Our Canine Companions

Around 3a.m. this morning I was up with my television set tuned to a news broadcast that mentioned the 4th of July being a day in which most dogs run away from home just before switching to a commercial break.

I figured the instance probably had to do with the explosive sounds of the fireworks lit in celebration of Independence day.

When the station switched back to the news program a segment on the issue was aired going further into detail about the anxiety some of our canine companions go through during the July 4th holiday, and as I thought, of course, it pertained to the noise and electrifying sparks of those loud fireworks.

I understood completely. When I was a kid I hated the sounds firecrackers and M-80s made yet loved to see the beautiful arrangement of bursting colors that shot out into the sky with a more appealing explode.

My dog didn’t like the sounds of fireworks either but it was never an annoyance to provoke her to run away from home. She’d either run close to one of us (her family members) for comfort and protection or run under some furniture to hide as she did from the loud harsh sounds of thunder when it rained.

My dog use to hang out with us on the stoop as we’d watch people light up the streets of our block on this holiday occasion back in the day.

Cop Flop

I stopped working at one of my jobs about a week ago as I wasn’t satisfied with the company and as one of the heads of the establishment wanted an explanation I refused to give him one as I just requested to get my last check.

The employers claimed that they were not withholding my check from me yet refused to mail it out to me or meet me downstairs of the building to give it to me. They wanted me to come upstairs and discuss how they could improve on whatever I was dissatisfied with.

I didn’t want to discuss anything I just wanted my money. I told them if they didn’t come down to give me my check that I would call the police. The company told me to go ahead so I did.

They must have thought I was bluffing. I don’t bullshit if I say I’m going to do something I’ll do it unless something comes up.

I phoned up the cops about five or six times I know the situation was not a life or death one, however, they never showed up. I initially called around 2pm and the police didn’t get back to me until going on 7pm later that same evening as they gave me a return call on my cell.

A cop had the nerve to ask me if I was at the location I had called about I told him no and how that had been hours ago. The cop apologized stating they were busy at the time and told me to call the police again the next time around.

Last Tuesday I went back to the company and the cops arrived within a timely manner and handled the situation and I received my paycheck on the spot.

I didn’t trust the establishment or environment as I worked for them a very short time. There is a possibility the company may be a front for something other than a legitimate health care setting.

Dr. Stephanie V Blank, MD

Dr. Stephanie Blank, MD

My mother beat ovarian cancer years ago when I was three years old. She was carrying a malignant growth on one of her ovaries while she was pregnant with me. She had the mass that was the size of an orange successfully removed without any complications.

The doctors found a growth on one of my ovaries when I was sixteen it had been developing since I was twelve. I underwent plenty of tests, referrals, and so on.

When I turned twenty-three I was introduced to Dr. Stephanie Blank who performed an exploratory laparoscopy on me to locate the mass they’d found on ultrasounds, MRI’s, and CT scans. She told me if they went in and found the growth she’d give me a bikini cut because I was young and she wanted the procedure to be done correctly and thoroughly so I wouldn’t have to undergo anymore possible surgery within the future or be butchered up.

She was very caring, considerate, and thoughtful toward me and my situation. I was strong within myself, confident within her ability, and not at all afraid to have my operation.

I was surrounded by a team of professional women and a camera and big television screen all there and ready to aide Dr. Blank in the preparation and process and I thought to myself how lucky I was to be in such good hands. I could feel the essence.

When I awoke in the recovery room first thing I did was vomit up food from the day before even though I hadn’t ate over the time I was instructed not to prior. I had an intravenous tube still in my arm. I found out that Dr. Blank wasn’t able to find the mass so I didn’t have to be cut on after all just the small unnoticeable incision made by the exploratory laparoscopy right near my belly button.

I was absolutely left without any scars and I was given a prescription for antibiotics and Tylenol with codeine upon release from the hospital.

I had one more doctor visit with Stephanie Blank following up on the minor surgical procedure and afterwards a telephone conversation where she acknowledged to me that she had given birth to a “beautiful baby boy” as she had put it and that she was going into her own medical practice.

All of the best doctors end up leaving and going into their own and I was proud of her as she was an inspiration.

This happened back in June of 1997 at New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell in Manhattan. Stephanie Blank’s specialty is gynecologic oncology.

Obese Children

I come from a very large family and in the summer of 1983 some relatives from down in my grandmother’s (my mother’s mother) hometown state of Virginia came up to New York to visit us for a week.

It was one of my grandmother’s sisters, her niece, her niece’s husband, and their two sons.

The youngest son was three years of age and looked to be about one hundred pounds. The little boy was so heavy that he had to crawl backwards just to make it down from the staircase.

His mother had brought along for their vacation his packed items of unhealthy snacks which were four cans of corn chips, cheese balls, and some other junk food.

What happened to the old hearty home cooked nourishing meals the family use to constantly prepare, serve, and feed off to the rest of the family?

I guess my grandmother’s niece hadn’t picked up on the tradition of her own mother’s household from years back.

Nevertheless, why let your kid get fat off of a bunch of unhealthy junk food? Shouldn’t she have been feeding him meat and vegetables and feeding him junk snacks sparingly if it was necessary at all for his young age?

I was about eight years old at the time and the three year old boy who was my second cousin cried at the time because I had eaten some dinner that was made for everyone. The child was so spoiled from constantly being fed all kinds of shit by his mother that he wanted to eat up everything there in sight.

My mother nicknamed him butterball.

It wasn’t until I got older and was strolling through the aisle in the supermarket that I realized she was referring him to the likes of a Butterball Turkey.

The mother of this young child was one of my mother’s first cousins, and to me, this kind of behavior was a form of child neglect and abuse. This kid who actually appeared to be one hundred pounds had no business getting to be that size for three years of age.

He was too big and had gained too much weight from eating too much of the wrong things.

My mother had to send her relatives home sooner than the week that was planned for them to stay at our home. The boy was causing too many problems as he whined from walking down the street.

His weight made him tired, sore, and lazy just from keeping mildly active. When he couldn’t get out of the car that his parents drove his mother asked my mother to pick him up and bring him out of the vehicle.

His mother was also on the heavy side and was a bit too lazy herself to go and lift up her son.

We all had took an outing on the circle liner boat ride in Manhattan and he had a fit about getting his way, and so on.

So my mother sent them all on home packing early one 4am morning.

Mind, Body, And Spirit

Food (any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth).

Our mind and spirit also need to be fed just as well as our bodies.

Harmonic alignment within personal environment promotes physical comfort, mental stimulation, and a spiritual peace which creates balance.

It is not about what is so-called normal as much as it is about what is healthy when going about individual well-being and how a person obtains fulfillment.

If we don’t pick out and wear the correct fit within accordance to our own specific foot size in proportion to area to breathe we just make the walk unnecessarily hard to bear.

Just One Of Those Things

For the most part, and in general, if one treats their body right their body will in return do unto them the same wonderful favor, and depending on how well, one may often receive the most optimal of health benefits.

In certain instances, however, there are those that heavily drink alcohol, heavily smoke, and don’t eat nutritionally that live on to have long fair (mediocre, okay, or so-so) lives without any serious health conditions. Whereas those who make a significant effort to take care of themselves sometimes fall short when it comes to major health problems and living great yet shorter lives.

For some, the circumstances are determined by genetics, environment, injury, health insurance, or fate-just a form of good or bad luck it seems when it comes to the unexplainable.
